DOG ATTACK: Appeal for information following incident in Bushey

Published on: 5th June 2023   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident in Bushey where one dog reportedly attacked and bit another.

The incident occurred in Bushey Manor Field on Finch Lane at around 12.40pm on Saturday, May 13.

A woman was walking in the park with her dog when a larger dog approached them and proceeded to bite her dog, leaving the pet with injuries which required surgery.

PC Eryka Morris, who is investigating, said: “This attack has caused pain and suffering for the victim’s dog who was just walking in the park.

“I want to remind dog owners that it is down to them to make sure their dog is under control, as the owner of the dog who was bitten was left fearing they may be attacked too.

“Enquiries have been ongoing since the incident was reported to us and we are now looking to trace any witnesses.

“We believe that the dog in question is distinctive in the community, so we are asking for anyone who knows the dog or saw what happened to contact us.”

If you can help, please contact PC Morris via email at eryka.morris@herts.police.uk

You can also report information online, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting SR 291 of 7 February.
