DISAPPEARING DRIVER: Witnesses sought following traffic collision in Watford

Published on: 24th February 2023   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision in Watford.

The incident occurred on St Albans Road, near the Dome roundabout, at just before 8.30pm on Wednesday, February 22.

A brown Honda Insight and a black Mercedes were involved.

No one is believed to have been seriously injured, but enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the Honda who had left the scene prior to police arrival.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Hern, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “Enquiries are continuing at this time to establish the circumstances around what happened and to trace the driver of the Honda.

“Our early investigations have led us to believe that a third vehicle may have been in the area at the time of the collision but also left the scene. It has been described as a small, dark coloured vehicle.

“We’re asking anyone who saw the collision, or the events prior to it, to please get in touch. We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the A41 North Western Avenue and St Albans Road areas around the time and has dash cam fitted.

“Any information at all could greatly assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to please email DS Hern at sarah.hern@herts.police.uk
