Disabled people will soon have improved access to Watford Junction station, Watford MP Richard Harrington has revealed. Mr Harrington has been working with rail bosses to secure improvements to the way the Station operates I am pleased to report that we will soon see improved disabled access at Watford Junction. It has been agreed that disabled passengers will in future be able to access the Station from the car park via an intercom system and with assistance from Station staff. Currently, disabled drivers who cannot park in the disabled bay at the front of the station are forced to park in the car park then come down the access road to the front entrance. Mr Harrington said the move will be a considerable improvement on the current situation. Improved pedestrian access should be completed by the end of this month, and this will include the building up of some kerbs and the re-marking of the crossing area to make it safer for people trying to cross the road. Mr Harrington said the longer term aim is to create a proper access route from the back of the station into St Albans Road where drivers are forced down Clarendon Road or back towards the light. The application for this is currently being put together
