The annual Abbots Langley Cricket Club (ALCC) End of Season Dinner and Dance brought the community together on Friday, September 26.
All those who had played throughout the year, as well as their friends and families, were invited to celebrate the club’s achievements.
Donations and raffle prizes were kindly given by local businesses, and attendees dressed in their finest black tie enjoyed music well into the night.
Assistant to the social secretary Rebecca Rueth, speaking to ABBOTSnews, said: “It’s a lovely time for the club to get together, celebrate and recognise what has happened and what everyone is doing.”
This year, ALCC finished the season in a strong position, with all teams doing well in their leagues.
The Men’s 1st XI finished in 7th place overall, securing their place in the same division for next season. This marks the first time that a team from ALCC has remained in Division One for two consecutive years.
The Men’s 2nd XI also had a standout season, earning promotion from Division 5B to 5A.
Meanwhile, the Ladies’ team ended their season on a high note by winning the Plate Finals Day.
