Construction has started on the redevelopment of the former West Herts College site in Kings Langley.

The Millworks development will see a five-storey building of 65 one- and two-bed homes built on Home Park Mill Link Road.

Bellway North London, the developer, plans to start releasing the houses for sale in November this year.

Greg Allsop, sales and marketing director for Bellway North London, said: “This is an exciting project which will deliver a stylish collection of modern apartments within a gated community. Before we were able to begin the process of creating this new addition to the skyline, we spent months demolishing the old college buildings.

“The site is well-known locally as the place where mills operated for more than 900 years and we have chosen the name Millworks to reflect this, Development of 65 new homes on former college site underway as well as to acknowledge the more recent history of the location as the site which housed the college engineering department. Outline planning permission was granted in 2019, with detailed plans approved on appeal in February this year.”
