Several events are set to take place in Croxley as part of Dementia Action Week.
The first event will take place on Monday, May 15, and is a multi-age sing-along for all those suffering with the condition. To find out more details, contact parish nurse Cathy on 07562 515791 or via croxleyparishnursecathy@gmail.com
The second is a talk from a specialist dementia nurse at Croxley Green Library from 2pm to 4pm on Tuesday, May 16, where they will discuss the signs of dementia and answer questions.
The next event takes place at St Oswald’s Church Hall from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Thursday, May 18. This will teach people more about reminiscence boxes, which are memory boxes filled with items meant to help someone with dementia recall people and events in their past.
The last two events both take place on Friday, May 19. The first is a café event at All Saints’ Church from 10.30am to 12pm, where people can meet up and raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society through buying the food for sale.
The second is a drop-in session for carers from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Croxley Green Library, where those involved in caring for people with dementia can find out how they can get support.
