DELIBERATE ACT: Flats badly damaged in suspected arson attack in Abbots Langley

A fire which police are treating as suspected arson has caused major damage to a block of flats in Abbots Langley.

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a building fire in Gade View Gardens, Abbots, on October 9 just before 9.30pm.

Two crews attended the fire which was on the third-floor landing.

No one was injured in the fire which police suspect to have been started deliberately.

Police say the fire caused extensive damage to the block of flats and five people had to be evacuated out of their homes and places in temporary accommodation.

A spokesperson for Herts Police said: “Officers attended to assist at the scene and are investigating as it is believed the fire was started intentionally.
