A doctor’s surgery in Hemel Hempstead has been closed all weekend for a “deep clean” after a patient turned up on Friday evening (March 6) and told reception staff he thought he might have the coronavirus.
Reports on social media said the Highfield GP Practice was immediately cleared of patients and surgery staff.
On the same evening, the deep clean began.
A notice on the door of the surgery reads: “Following a possible (not confirmed) case of coronavirus in a patient who visited the practice recently, we have taken all precautionary steps as advised
“This includes carrying out a deep clean of the premises on Friday evening.
“The practice will be opened as usual on Monday and there is no impact on patient appointments or any other practice activity.”
