Tring Tornadoes Junior Sports Club have shared the tragic news of the passing of one of their founders, Dave Livingstone.
In a post on the club’s Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of Dave Livingstone Snr (Little Dave) at 88 years of age.
“Dave was there at the very beginning of Tring Tornadoes in September 1970, with John Sansbury and Ron Bunn, when there were just 40 players. Today, we have over 1,000 playing members across youth and adult football and netball (which was started by Dave’s wife Maureen in 1974).
“Our thoughts are with the Livingstone family at this time. With their agreement, we intend to pay our respects as a club by holding a minute of applause at the beginning of all of our football matches (home and away) in the Beds Girls League, the Herts Girls League, the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference, the Wycombe & South Bucks Minor Football League, the West Herts Youth League and the Berkhamsted Sunday League.
“We are his legacy and through us Dave, Ron and John will always be remembered.”
