Edgware & Stanmore Rotary Club (ESRC) enjoyed a day out to the circus last month with 25 Shaftesbury High School students.
Shaftesbury High School is a community special school which currently has 165 pupils.
Hosted by Rotary London District, ESRC and the students joined almost 800 other children and their carers in a visit to Zippos Circus in Palmers Green.
ESRC, which meets every second, fourth and fifth Wednesday of the month at Stanmore Golf Club, is part of an international group providing humanitarian service and aims to build goodwill and promote peace across the world.
Club president Danielle Benson said she has enjoyed developing ESRC’s relationship with the school.
She told STANMORE&EDGWAREnews: “The event seemed to go very smoothly, the weather was fine, and it all went without a hitch.
“The club is hoping to help the school more.”
ESRC’s involvement in the event was arranged in conjunction with the charity KidsOut.
The rotary club, which was set up in 1930, says on its website that it is “strengthened and enriched by the mix of members in age, profession, culture, gender and ethnicity”.
Danielle, who became a member of ESRC 10 years ago, joined London District governor Himanshu Jain and London District governor elect Adrian Faiers for the event.
She said about working with other rotary clubs: “The more we join forces, the more we’re successful.”
