‘DANGEROUS’: Frustration over parents’ lazy parking when picking up children from schools in Garston

Coates Way residents, in Garston, are frustrated with parents’ ‘lazy parking’ when picking up children from schools.

They worry that soon a major accident will happen, and someone will get hurt.

One resident who wishes to remain anonymous spoke to GARSTONnews and said: “Around school pick up time it is absolutely ridiculous with cars parked all over the grass, on the corners, which makes it a nightmare, on the double yellow lines, it’s absolutely horrendous, they just don’t care where they park, it’s messing up all the grass area, more so in winter.

“But we are all just so fed up with it, and my partner can never get parked at that time of day, other residents have the same problem, and if we have visitors, it’s the same.”

Another resident took to social media and said: “If you are picking your children up from St Catherine’s, St Michaels or Parmiter’s and parking along Coates way know that people do need to get in and out of their own driveways. Soon a major accident will happen or even worse emergency services unable to come down to save someone’s life.”

A third person commented: “I live in Coates Way and can’t believe how parents park. I even often see them parked up in the middle part of the dual carriageway…. unbelievable!”

A fourth resident said: “I live opposite Coates Way school it’s an absolute nightmare to even park my own car because of parents and teachers using the bays! the amount of arguments I’ve had to park outside my own home to carry in shopping is a joke.”
