Pinner dance group, The Irish Dance Academy, have announced the news that they will be performing at the Britain’s Got Talent opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony is being held at the London Palladium and will be kicking off the auditions for the 2019 competition.
The dance group, which was formed eight years ago, has been going from strength to strength recently with the academy performing at the Peter Pan show in Wembley Arena in 2017.
Five students at the academy, three of which are from Pinner, have just recently secured a place in the World Irish Dancing Championships in North Carolina.
The Pinner finalists include Lily McDonnell, who is the current medal holder, and brother and sister Arthur and Bridget Moran.
Dance instructor Sean McNicholas said he couldn’t be any prouder of the group but knows that it is all they deserve.
Sean said: “We found out just before Christmas and it was the best feeling. We can’t wait to be involved because everyone associated with the academy knows how hard we all work.
“We are taking the younger group as it will be a great experience for them. It’s an amazing opportunity and an amazing story.
“We took an older group to the Peter Pan show last year and it felt only right to take the younger group to get a feel of what it will be like in future for them.”
The dance group are based out of locations including Pinner, Harrow, Kingsbury and Finchley but are always looking for more dancers to join the group.
“Currently, we have around 100 students across the academy and five teachers. We are based out of three main locations but everyone is welcome.
“You don’t have to be an experienced dancer to come along. We have a special offer for first timers at the minute – the door is always open for everyone.”
