Thousands of Croxley residents came together today (June 18) to celebrate the highly-anticipated return of Croxley Revels.
The festival which dates back more than 100 years features performances from local theatre groups, sports clubs, choirs and much more.
One of the long-standing tradition of the maypole dance also brought the crowds, as a local Brownie group took to the arena to perform despite the poor weather.
Councillor Stephen Crabtree, who is on the organising committee for Revels, said: “It’s absolutely amazing, this has been a three-year break from 2019 when we last did the revels, and you can look around and see the happy faces and everything going on.
“It’s brilliant, people are coming up and saying they are glad to be back. It does feel a little bit strange that this has been missing.”
Sandwiched between the arena performances was a prize-giving ceremony where Sharon Taylor, Linda from the Weekly Community Bus and Linda Anderson from The Kitchen were honoured for their dedication to helping others in the community.
Prizes were also given out to those who had gone above and beyond to set up the best stall display. The three winning stalls were the Royal British Legion, Croxley Vintage Cycle Club, Croxley Childminders.
