A man has been charged and remanded in relation to a serious assault outside a fast-food restaurant in Watford.
Daniel French, 41, of Wilmington Close, Watford, has been charged with wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, and has been remanded ahead of his appearance at Hatfield Remand Court today (Wednesday, May 14).
The charge relates to an incident which allegedly occurred outside Wendy’s on Watford High Street at around 6.15pm on Monday, May 12.
The victim, a man aged in his 60s, was pushed to the ground before being punched to the face, causing him to fall and cut his head. He was taken to hospital for treatment and is now recovering.
Detective Inspector Chris Parperi, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “We are pleased to have achieved a charging decision for this incident, and we now await the outcome of today’s court hearing.
“We are continuing to investigate this crime, which happened in a busy area during daylight hours, so was likely witnessed by the public.
