The beginnings of what appear to be a makeshift shack in Croxley Hall Woods have been dismantled by Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) due to concerns over the area’s natural habitat.
Local residents found a pile of items in the woods, which included several large branches that had been tied together with masking tape, several wooden planks and some tools including shovels and spades. A square trench had also been dug with the shovels.
Following the discovery, the TRDC leisure and landscapes team were contacted and removed the items upon visiting the site.
Croxley district councillor Chris Mitchell said: “I want to give my thanks the team for dealing with it so quickly.
“We are so lucky to have so much ancient woodland around Croxley Green, and it’s important to make sure any interfering with the natural habitat is reported.”
