A junior park run in Pinner celebrated its one-year anniversary last month.
Every Sunday, kids aged between four and 14 come together at 9am to race in a free 2k event around Pinner Village Gardens.
February saw the run reach its first birthday, and what a year it was. More than 500 kids have taken part in the weekly runs, with help from more than 100 volunteers.
On the Pinner Village Gardens junior parkrun Facebook account, the team said reaching this milestone was “quite an achievement”.
They said: “We have to admit that setting up a parkrun is quite a challenge. There are times when you question your sanity for attempting to deliver something so new and different to the Pinner community [but] you know it is a truly worthwhile effort.
“A huge thanks to the 553 different children who have taken part, the volunteers, all you parents who come along, a tireless core team and some great initial support from Kenton Rec and Northala junior parkrun teams – you’ve all been great!
“Let’s have an amazing second year!”
