The annual Rickmansworth Winter Fair is returning on Friday, November 29, to kick-start the Christmas season with festive family fun.
The High Street will be full of festive stalls and many shops will be open for the public to shop, socialise, eat and get into the festive spirit.
The event has been running since 1992 and has grown into a fun evening for the whole community. Previously, the event was entirely run using fundraising and donations. Now, a grant is given by Batchworth Community Council (BCC) and the event is sponsored by Warner Bros. Studio Leavesden.
This year, there will be many local groups and schools singing on the Rising Star Stage, as well as Magic Martin appearing at 4.45pm, fairground rides, Santa’s grotto and children’s activities in Three Rivers Museum, hot food, mulled wine, mince pies and, weather permitting, a chance to meet with this year’s panto cast and more.
The annual parade led by the Chesham All Girls’ Band will start at 5.50pm and the Christmas lights switch on by BCC will take place at 6pm.
Nina, one of the event organisers, said: “It’s about the whole community coming together to have fun!”
