Amersham Town Council celebrated exceptional individuals in the community at the annual Citizen of the Year Awards last month.
After the Annual Town Meeting on March 28, Town Mayor councillor Mark Roberts presented the awards to this year’s recipients.
The Citizen of the Year award was given to Alison Bailey for her ongoing service to the community, including her work with Amersham Museum and Amersham Action Group. Her husband John accepted the award on her behalf.
Young Citizen of the Year was awarded to Kie Daniel for his contribution to community causes and his selflessness, frequently putting others before himself despite his personal challenges.
The Business Award went to Barnett Waddingham for their ongoing engagement and support of Amersham Town Council, Amersham in Bloom and many local projects.
The Environment Award was given to Stony Dean School for their dedication to improving the local environment.
Finally, the Mayor’s Special Award went to Amersham in Bloom volunteers for their commitment to enhancing the town.
