Sunnyside Rural Trust (SRT) is opening three gardens to the public, including one in Hemel Hempstead, starting from Saturday, May 13.
SRT is a charity that supports young people and adults with learning disabilities by offering training and employment opportunities within a social enterprise setting.
The charity’s garden on Two Waters Road, alongside sites in Berkhamsted and Northchuch, will open as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS).
The NGS opens private gardens to the public to help raise money for health charities through admissions and refreshments.
The Hemel site has an orchard and market garden growing a range of vegetables. These are available to buy in the farm shop and are also used in the Sunnyside Up Café.
The garden, which is accessible from the Grand Union Canal, was previously given a Green Flag award.
