COCAINE CATCH: Borehamwood drug dealer given suspended jail sentence

Published on: 11th December 2023   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Borehamwood cocaine dealer who was caught more than two years ago was given a suspended jail sentence today (Monday, December 11).

Ben Huffingley, now aged 22, was warned by a judge that if he returned to selling drugs, he would go straight to prison.

Prosecutor Gerard Renouf said the police raided his home in August 2021.

A total of £3,364 was seized, along with mobile phones, scales and 150 lottery tickets, used to make drug wraps.

Data from the phone showed Huffingley had been dealing for two months.

Huffingley appeared for sentence at St Albans Crown Court, having pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Defending, Corinne Bramwell said Huffingley was aged only 19 at the time. She said no cocaine was found at his home.

Judge Caroline Wigin told him: “You were tempted into a lifestyle and were operating from your own parents’ home. What saves you from immediate custody is the fact that you were 19, and have a supportive family.”

She passed a two-year jail sentence, suspended for 24 months, and said he must complete 20 rehabilitation days.
