Amersham & Chalfont Hockey Club are celebrating after achieving an amazing three promotions from their 13 senior teams this season.
In addition, none of the teams suffered from the agony of relegation, meaning there will be no commiserations mixed in with the jubilations at the end-of-the-season parties.
Following on from this success, the club already have big plans for next season.
This includes the addition of two new coaches straight from the Great Britain squads in Tokyo 2020.
Welsh international Rupert Mapperley, who has 75 caps for his country, and Hannah Martin, who won bronze at the Olympics and gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, were both involved in training sessions recently, and will be regularly participating in coach development as of next season.
Aside from the club’s successful adult squads, it also boasts an ever-growing 500-plus youth section, which develops a love of hockey that sees many eventually transfer to the older teams.
Chair of the club Rob Levine said: “The club is open to all, and new members are always welcome.
“Our players range in age from five to 85, with a growing Grand Master section, and in abilities from complete beginners (we have a hockey fundamentals group aimed at newbies or those who haven’t played for ages) to people who have played in the national leagues.
“They all find friendship and enjoyment at their great facilities just off Stanley Hill in Amersham.”
