CLOSURE CONCERN: Help needed to save Abbots and Kings Langley branch of RAF support organisation

Published on: 9th March 2020   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Calling all Serving and Retired members of the RAF. Your help and support is needed.

The local branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) are urgently looking for new committee members, who have served or who are serving in the RAF, or have a keen interest in aviation, to help preserve our branch.

The RAFA is there to help to support serving and retired RAF Veterans physically, emotionally and financially.

Due to age and declining health, the present committee members are to retire from the committee at the AGM in February 2021 after a combined total of 110years service to the RAFA and the Branch.

Meetings are held at the Manor House Sports Centre, Gallows Hill Lane, Abbots Langley WD5 0DD on the second Thursday of each month from 8pm to 10.30pm and the varied entertainment makes our meetings interesting and entertaining.

The Branch was formed on 19th March1959, some 61yrs ago, Our founder members included the actor Peter Sellers. We would be most sad to see the branch close.

If you are interested in joining the committee in February 2021 and taking the branch forward, please contact either the Branch Secretary, Bob Sheminant, on 01923 263141 rsheminant@gmail.com or branch chairman, Trevor Hayes, on 01923 331975  or by emailing hayes.trevor425@gmail.com
