Amersham is concerned about the environment, and the high street has been transformed into a green space.
Sustainable Amersham, a community organisation concerned about the devastating effects of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss, has backed the Show The Love campaign this year to urge the government to take serious and fast action on climate change.
Show The Love campaign is created by The Climate Coalition, the UK’s largest organisation dedicated to action against climate change.
The environmental organisation has engaged the aid of local businesses in this effort, with many displaying the campaign banner ‘Amersham Cares About Our Planet’ in their storefronts to help spread the message.
On February 8, as part of the campaign, the organisation put up a stall in Amersham town centre’s market, reaching out and inviting more people to join.
Green Hearts in February have been launched on all Sustainable Amersham social media to support the campaign.
Sustainable Amersham volunteers presented crafted green hearts created by its members and Amersham WI members, encouraging people to write to their MPs and demand prompt action on the climate crisis.
On the day, post cards were distributed with the message to MP, Sarah Green, to make it easier for everyone to participate in the campaign.
