A triathlete from Croxley will run the London Marathon dressed as a skeleton to raise funds for the Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT).
Claire Casselton decided to join the #TeamBones campaign after her sister-in-law, Carolyn, was diagnosed with primary bone cancer last year.
BCRT conducts life-saving research and offers invaluable support to patients and their families affected by bone cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone is diagnosed with bone cancer, and early detection is critical in improving survival rates.
Claire hopes that by running in her skeleton costume, she will not only raise crucial funds, but also increase awareness of bone cancer.
Ahead of the marathon, which will take place on Sunday, April 21, Claire gave her costume a test run at the Hillingdon 20 race on Sunday, March 24.
Claire said: “A lot of marshals cheered me on and little children waved when they saw me. It wasn’t as bad as I thought!”
So far, Claire has raised more than £820. To donate, please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/claire-casselton-2024
