FEELING FESTIVE: Gerrards Cross Christmas extravaganza returns bigger and better than ever before

Published on: 10th December 2023   |   By: Annabel Stock   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hundreds of people came together in Gerrards Cross last month to celebrate the Christmas lights switch-on.

The event, which took place on Friday, November 24, was organised by Gerrards Cross Town Council and supported by volunteers and the Rotary Club of Misbourne Matins.

Packhorse Road was closed to traffic for the evening and filled with food and drink stalls, craft traders, funfair rides, and Santa’s grotto.

Gerrards Cross resident and award-winning actor Robert Lindsay, who recently starred in the hit London show Anything Goes, opened the event and had the honour of switching on the Christmas lights.

Children and adults alike grooved along in the streets to music provided by local singer-songwriter Debbie Curtis and a DJ. The pupils of Maltman’s Green School also delighted the crowd with a handbell performance.

This year, there were more stalls than ever before and local shops and businesses opened their doors to offer festive food and drink to the crowd.

The evening ended with a spectacular firework display on Gerrards Cross Common.
