Croxley councillor Emily Benner is urging Croxley residents to donate to her charity, which provides kindness and gifts for care home residents.
Small Acts of Kindness has been working in partnership with cllr Benner’s charity Violet’s Gift since 2020. They have delivered Christmas gifts to care home residents who have no loved ones.
Violet’s Gift was founded by cllr Benner in 2015, after her grandma, Maria, moved into a care home. Cllr Benner discovered that 17 residents, including a woman named Violet, never received any visitors.
Christmas can be a lonely time for those without loved ones, so cllr Benner asked her friends and family if they could donate gifts for the residents and she was overwhelmed with the response.
Sadly, that was Violet’s last Christmas, but it was made special by the kindness of others.
Cllr Benner said: “There are a few ways you can help us to make Christmas special. You can donate a gift from Violet’s Gift and we will purchase and deliver this on your behalf, or you can volunteer your time to help wrap and deliver our gifts.”
