Students from St Paul’s C of E VA Primary School in Chipperfield were in great form on all sporting fronts as the school year came to a close.

In early July, the school’s cricket and hockey teams represented at the school county games, and the latter won one of their games an impressive 7-2. The cricket team won one game and lost two in a difficult competition.

On the weekend of July 6, Alex M (Year 5) came first in his regional trampolining event in Brentwood, while Ben and Bradley (both Year 6) represented England at Futsal the following week in Spain and got all the way to the final, where they were beaten 3-5 by the Spanish team.

Sophia from Year 4 was the star at the County Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championship competition as the Berkhamsted squad she was in achieved the highest scores for both technical and artistic ability and she scored the highest overall against all the Hertfordshire competing gymnasts.

On Monday, July 8, 20 athletes from Year 5 and 6 took part in the Dacorum Track event at Jarman Park and came an impressive third out of 12 schools. Imogen (Year 5) came first in her sprint, Lucio (Year 6) came first in his 400 m and Scarlett (Year 5) came first in her 400 m as well. There were plenty of second places as well.
