A Croxley councillor who will take on two marathons this year is urging the public to take up sport for the sake of mental and physical health.
Three Rivers district councillor and long-term Croxley resident Chris Lloyd will run the Edinburgh Marathon in May and the Chester Marathon in October in order to raise money for sustainable development charity Tearfund.
Cllr Lloyd has supported Tearfund since his schooldays, regularly taking on strenuous physical challenges to fundraise for the charity.
He is also keen to inspire others to get on their feet, whether that be for a gentle walk or a run.
Cllr Lloyd said: “We all must find some physical activity which we can do to help our physical and mental health. I try and run with friends, which gets the commitment in the diary.
“I want to get the message out there that anyone can do it.”
