The Catholic Worker Farm (CWF) in Maple Cross is putting on “a feast for all the senses” at its home at Lynsters Farm.
While giving founders Scott and Birthe Albrecht the opportunity to thank all those who have supported their work, the party on Saturday, June 8, will also be a chance for attendees to make new friends. Visitors can enjoy an international buffet and African drumming, as well as trampolines and a bouncy castle to keep children busy.
The CWF provides temporary accommodation for destitute women and children. Some of the residents are asylum seekers, while others have no recourse to public funds, meaning they do not have the right to work in the UK.
Founded in 2006, the CWF has provided emergency accommodation to hundreds of women and currently houses 17 women and children at its premises.
The open day will take place from 3pm until late, and there is no need to book.
