A Watford choir raised £400 for a local hospice through their summer concert last month.
The Watford Phoenix Choir held the concert at St Mary’s Church on Saturday, July 8, and raised £400 for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.
The concert of both popular and classical music featured many theme songs from James Bond films, including an arrangement of Skyfall that was specially written for the choir.
Watford Junior Phoenix Choir, based at Central Primary School in Watford and directed by a member of the Phoenix Choir, also performed a selection of songs.
Sue Osborn, a choir member who helped to organise the event, said: “It was a lovely concert, and the audience were so enthusiastic. Some of the James Bond themes were quite challenging, but I think all the hard work paid off and we were happy to have helped Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.”
The choir is inviting new members to join them for their autumn term, which starts on Wednesday, September 27.
