Radlett resident Robert (Bob) Bassey hosted an extra special 70th birthday party on Tuesday, August 19.
As reported in the August 2025 edition of RADLETTnews, Bob held a fundraiser at Phillimore Community Centre in aid of The Royal Free Charity.
The charity supports patients, staff and researchers across the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust by providing new medical equipment, wellbeing programmes and even research.
Bob’s fundraiser was attended by 40 people and included a buffet filled with biscuits, cakes, sandwiches and more, as well as a raffle with 30 different prizes donated by another resident.
The event raised £448 for the charity, with an extra £760 raised via a JustGiving page and £515 through sponsorship forms.
However, Bob’s fundraising spirit did not end there as he also took part in the London Bridges Walk on Saturday, September 13, walking over 16 bridges in London.
