A woman from Bushey who has been diagnosed with breast cancer three times is taking to the catwalk in support of a cancer charity.
Lorraine Jonas, 72, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 at the age of 46 and again in 2006 after 10 years of being clear of cancer.
During lockdown in January 2021, Lorraine received her third breast cancer diagnosis alongside the news that she also had bladder and urachal cancer.
Now living with incurable breast cancer, Lorraine is set to strut her stuff as part of The Show by Breast Cancer Now, featuring 24 models all living or beyond breast cancer.
Since Lorraine was selected to take part in The Show taking place on April 20, she has been fundraising and has so far raised more than £4,000.
Speaking about why she has chosen to support the charity, Lorraine said: “For 26 years cancer and I have had a relationship with lots of ups and downs, but I have been blessed with a very positive mental attitude.
“Breast Cancer Now is a charity close to my heart because they have helped me throughout my cancer experience. They offer support, guidance and more importantly, research into finding a cure for breast cancer.
“My husband, my daughters and their husbands will be coming along to watch me take part in Breast Cancer Now’s The Show. I have never taken part in anything like it before, it’s way out of my comfort zone but I’m so excited to take to the catwalk!”
