A Berkhamsted-based charity is asking local residents to consider becoming volunteers.
Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care provides care and support for adults and children with a life-limiting illness. Through its services, the charity helps people live the best quality of life they can.
The charity is now in need of more volunteers at its retail and trading head office to help process online orders and deliver stock to its shops. Help is also needed in the Berkhamsted shop.
The operation brings in around one-third of the charity’s income each year.
Volunteer Barrie shared his experience: “There’s never a dull day! Over the years, I’ve seen a bag of gold sovereigns that raised £4,000, a Cartier watch selling for £500, and an original Spitting Image puppet head that sold for £670.”
Fashion student Gemma, who is also a volunteer, said: “It is a very friendly team environment, and I like raising money for the hospice.”
