Chalfont Lodge care home in Chalfont St Peter, run by Barchester Healthcare, held a day of celebrations and gifts to thank care staff at the home who make a real difference to the lives of those in their care to mark National Carers Week.
The head chef threw a special party with food and treats for everyone to enjoy.
All the departments got a box of choclates and a certificate of appreciation from Raj the general manager and Anna the feputy.
During the week the Physiotherapy department hosted a Falls Workshop for carers in the community, to share knowledge of how to keep well and healthy.
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
Carers have a vital job in the care of residents throughout the home, and form very special bonds with the people they look after.
They are the day-to-day face of our home, working directly with residents and families to ensure the very best quality care and support is given.
General manager Raj Boodhoo said “I am very proud of the carers within Chalfont Lodge. Our carers work hard to provide high quality, personalised care to the people living in our homes, often go above and beyond the call of duty and have a huge impact on people’s lives. They also offer friendship and comfort to residents and their relatives during what can be a very emotional time. We appreciate the work they do all year round”.
