CENSUS 2021: Data reveals details about Rickmansworth residents’ employment

Data from the 2021 Census has revealed interesting figures about the workforce in Rickmansworth.

In all areas – named as Rickmansworth North & Loudwater; Rickmansworth West; Moor Park & Batchworth; and Mill End, Heronsgate & Maple Cross – the number of those in employment outnumbered those who were unemployed.

Of those who were unemployed, the majority were people who had worked before, but not in the last 12 months. This category included people who had retired. Less than 26 per cent of people in all areas had never worked in their life.

The majority of workers in Rickmansworth West, Moor Park & Batchworth, and Mill End, Heronsgate & Maple Cross worked in professional roles, defined as jobs that “require a high level of knowledge and experience in the natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, social sciences, humanities and related fields”.

In Rickmansworth North & Loudwater, the majority of workers were in the category of managers, directors and senior officials.
