CELEBRATION OF ABILITIES: Virtual theatre evenings launched by Watford’s Herts Inclusive Theatre

Published on: 16th June 2020   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Herts Inclusive Theatre are launching a virtual theatre evening, on the last Monday of each month starting on Monday, June 29.

The evening is a celebration of all abilities, and an opportunity for participants from Herts Inclusive Theatre and the local community to perform to their family, peers and friends.

Each evening will be compered by one of the Herts Inclusive Theatre team, and each act can perform for around four to five minutes.

The performance can be anything they wish from singing a song, reading a poem, acting as their favourite character, or performing an extract from their favourite play.

Herts Inclusive Theatre director, Caroline Stevens said: “Our participants are missing the opportunity to perform on stage which was one of the highlights of taking part in HIT’s activities, we asked them what they would like to do and some suggested a theatre evening.

“They can perform a piece they know already, or work on something new at home, or share what they have learnt during one of our online Zoom sessions.

“It also gives participants the chance to come together and see each other in more of a relaxed and social context than when they are taking part in the online taught sessions.”

There is still opportunity to join in as an audience member even if you don’t wish to perform, entry is free but must be booked in advance in order to gain access to the ‘theatre’.

To book a ticket or register as an act please contact Herts Inclusive Theatre on admin@hit-theatre.org.uk.
