As Rocky Balboa said: “It ain’t about how hard you can hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward” – something Watford boxer Shannon Ryan showed after her huge comeback last month.
In June last year, the 28-year-old boxer lost the British super-flyweight title to Emma Dolan after losing her perfect seven-win streak.
But on Friday, December 13, Shannon proved just how strong she is, mentally and physically, by defeating Kate Radomska with a technical knockout at the prestigious York Hall in Bethnal Green.
In a post shared on her social media, Shannon said: “I couldn’t be more prouder of how everything came together. This was my first full camp and first fight under the guidance of my new coach Arron Woodcock, and what a phenomenal journey it’s been.
“The hard work showed in the ring, and I owe so much of that to the belief and dedication to my entire team!
“The rebirth of my career.”
