CAR THEFTS: Laptops and headphones stolen as four vehicles broken into in Bushey

Published on: 10th February 2025   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after four cars were broken into in Bushey.

Three of the vehicles were targeted while parked in the car park at Kemp Place between 7pm and 9pm on Friday, January 31.

Officers patrolling the area spotted the damage and contacted the owners.

Rear windscreens had been smashed, with items including laptops and headphones reported as stolen.

A fourth vehicle was also broken into at The Windmill cark park on the same evening, with a tablet device among the items taken.

Through enquiries, the break-ins are currently being linked to a similar incident which occurred on Metropolitan Police ground.

PC Luke Hinchliffe, from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Our enquiries are continuing at this time to trace those responsible for the thefts. Two white males, aged in their 30s, were seen in the area at the time of the incidents. One was wearing a baseball cap and the other was wearing a gilet.

“We’re appealing for anyone who may know their identity to please come forward. We’d also be keen to hear from anyone who may have captured any dashcam footage that could assist enquiries.”

He added: “I’d urge people to please ensure that they remove all valuable items from vehicles when leaving them unattended, even from the boot. It takes just seconds for an opportunist thief to strike, often causing considerable damage in the process. If you witness any suspicious activity, please call police straight away. Further advice can be found on our website.”
