Published on: 25th February 2022   |   By: Court Reporter   |   Category: Uncategorized

A homeless man who was under the influence of drugs was caught sleeping in a Porsche in Bushey.

Mitchell Yallop, 46, broke into the car on the night of February 15, 2019, and when confronted by the owner in Mill Way, a scuffle broke out.

Prosecutor Robert Harding told St Albans Crown Court today (Friday, February 25) that the owner took photos of Yallop after he managed to pull a scarf away from his face.

Yallop lashed out punching the man to the jaw and cheek. The police arrived and he was arrested.

Yallop, now of Harthall Lane, Kings Langley, appeared for sentence having pleaded guilty to committing common assault and theft on the night of February 15, 2019.

He had eight convictions for twenty four offences.

Defending, Richard Reynolds said that at the time he was found in the Porsche, Yallop was taking class A drugs and was homeless. He said he is now off drugs and has accommodation.

Recorder David Mayall passed a 12-month community order and said he must abide by a curfew for two months between 7pm and 7am.
