A car was found dumped in an unusual spot last month.
A black VW Polo was found by a Friends of Stanmore Common group on February 17.
The vehicle managed to drive in the common for several yards before getting stuck in thick mud near Pinding Mersc.
Canons Police say they have arrested a person who was believed to be drink driving. It is not known if the car was stolen.
Friends of Stanmore Common Facebook page posted pictures of the car which was stuck in boggy mud.
The post read: “You shouldn’t always do what the SatNav tells you to do. Some clown has driven half way across the common and ran into thick mud at the Pinding Mersc marshy area. This will not be cheap to remove.”
