Detectives investigating a robbery in Hemel Hempstead are appealing for information and witnesses.

It happened between 2.20pm and 2.40pm on Bank Holiday Monday May 31, in the underpass by the Riverside shopping mall in the town centre.

The male victim was riding his bike when he was approached by two men who tried to engage him in conversation.

They then threatened him before demanding he hand over his bike, a black Carrera with distinctive purple handlebars.

The victim attempted to cycle off but one of the men pushed him off the bike and managed to grab it before both offenders left in the direction of the town centre.

Both offenders were described as white, aged in their late teens, and wearing black ‘man bags’. The first offender had blond hair, was around 5ft 7in tall and was of slim build. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms with a top.

The second offender had dark-coloured hair, and was around 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing a black Nike tracksuit with the hood up, and white Nike Air Force trainers.
