A Lloyds customer who used the banks Stanmore branch every week is outraged of its closure last month.
Nikki Middlemass, who runs a Pilates class at Bernays Memorial Hall in Stanmore, believes it is not only an inconvenience to all of the loyal Lloyds’ customers in Harrow, but could isolate the older generation who used the branch.
“It’s annoying for me because that was my closest branch and I would use it every week, but when you look at the bigger picture, this has a massive impact on the local community,” said Nikki.
“The closure isolates people especially the older generation. People are being encouraged to bank online and are sometimes being forced to it. It is great and underestimated how much it benefits older people as they get out and socialise.
“Banks just don’t take their customers into consideration. It was always busy, and they have also closed their Wealdstone branch so know to use my bank I have to go out of my way.”
The closure of Nikki’s local branches has forced her into looking into changing banks but is aware that banks are closing all over the country.
After Lloyds announced they were closing the Stanmore branch, Nikki made a formal complaint and was advised if a substantial number of customers complained of its closure, they would think about reopening it.
