North Bushey residents are “over the moon” as planning application for a proposed power plant has been withdrawn. Local residents worked together to protest against the application to of standby electricity generation plant on Berry Grove Lane which is Green Belt land and a flood plain. Cllr Leslie Winters told My Bushey News that Gareth Woodbury from UK Power wrote to Hertsmere Council to withdraw the application today (October 9). He commented: “The residents are over the moon; they did an incredible job and deserve a pat on the back.” Cllr Jane West has the matter called in and worked with Leslie on the project. Residents Mick and Lisa Gomez who live on Berry Grove Lane were the first to be informed on the matter and worked together to inform the residents and create a petition against the application.
