A top-ranked independent school in Bushey that was due to close in the summer has been given a last-minute reprieve.
Plans to close Immanuel College on Elstree Road, Bushey, were announced on April 14.
The co-educational Jewish day school said it could no longer make ends meet in the tough economic and educational climate.
However, ten days later it was announced that a group of parents had come together to save the school by pulling together a £12.7 million rescue package.
In a statement the school thanked the families who had pledged funds and described the turn of events as “the beginning of a new chapter”.
