BRONZE BRILLIANCE: Kings Langley church receives award for eco-friendly efforts

A Kings Langley church has received a Bronze Eco Church Award for its efforts to promote eco-friendly practices.

All Saints Church has received the award as part of the scheme led by A Rocha UK, which encourages church communities to find ways to go green.

To achieve the award, All Saints has run an annual campaign to encourage members to be more eco-friendly, established wildflower meadows in collaboration with Dacorum Borough Council, and set up a bug hotel.

Father James, Vicar of All Saints, said: “We regularly pray about the environment and for those working to mitigate climate change, as well as hearing encouragements in sermons and at the annual Churches Together Christian Aid service.”

Church warden Andy Wragg, who leads on the Eco Church Award for All Saints, said: “It’s great that we have already achieved the Bronze Award, but we are keen to keep progressing. The Church of England has set a target for churches to reach net zero by 2030 and we want to be part of that – and we also want to care for God’s creation.”
