One of the many things that makes Bushey truly special is how the community comes together, and never was this clearer than at the Bushey Performing Arts Festival.
While the lively atmosphere and sunshine of the festival, which took place on Sunday, June 8, are now fond memories, its impact is still felt.
Each year, the community comes together to create a piece of art that captures the essence of the day.
This year’s artwork, titled Pure Imagination, was unveiled at Bushey Museum and Art Gallery on Wednesday, October 29.
This “beautifully curated” exhibition showcases artwork inspired by and photography taken at the festival. The live art pieces were created by resident artist Anna Schofield and guest artist Laura James, while photographs were contributed by members of Pinner Camera Club.
Anna’s goal for the piece was not only to create a singular work of art but to capture the diversity and vibrancy of the festival.
Visitors of all ages were invited to add their own creative touch, drawing or writing about their favourite festival moments, resulting in a captivating mix of personal artistic reflections.
Elstree councillor Harvey Cohen said the exhibition was a “true celebration of creativity, talent, and community spirit”.
He continued: “It was lovely to visit with my colleagues and be reminded of the joy the festival brings to residents across Hertsmere.”
The community also came together to thank Raymond Coffer, the man behind the festival, whose hard work and dedication continue to inspire the community year after year.
The Pure Imagination exhibition is now open for visitors at Bushey Museum.
