Harry Greenwood, 11, from Bushey went the extra mile in May to show his gratitude to the NHS when he baked more than 400 cookies after wanting to give something back after all they’ve done for his twin brother, Jake, who suffers with necrotising enterocolitis.
When Harry told his mother, Gina, that he was going to be baking cookies in the kitchen, she only expected around 10, so was shocked to see over 400.
Speaking to BusheyNews, Gina said: “I’m so proud of Harry for wanting to do something like this for the NHS after everything they have done for his brother in his life. He is only 11 years old so for him to want to do this was wonderful.
“I was so shocked when I saw how much he had done; I knew he was a keen baker but even I didn’t expect this from him. He even cleaned up the whole kitchen when he was finished.”
Harry and Jake both live with their mother and sister, Ella who is 13, in Bushey and have done so all their lives.
They are currently having to self-isolate until at least July due to Jake being in the vulnerable category.
