Bridge that gap

Published on: 27th July 2018   |   By: Jason Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

In September last year we reported that Bushey’s local Bridge Club had seen a substantial increase in membership following its move to Bushey Sports Club on Aldenham Road.

The club had added 50 per cent more members and doubled attendance at playing sessions and lessons.

Jim Blair, an associate member of the English Bridge Teachers Association, and a tutor at the club, has informed us that the club has now made it on to the list of the most popular clubs in England.

According to the English Bridge Union, Watford and Bushey Bridge Club is the 49th most attended club. More remarkably they have climbed 36 places on last year, way more than any other club, and making it the most improved in the country.

If you’d like to join in this success story, the club is holding a free Open Evening on Tuesday, September 11 where players of all standards from complete beginners to returners are welcome to come along and play and see what the club has to offer.

The club offers a full programme for players of all standards and an extensive learning programme. Beginners and improvers lessons start in October, details of which will be available on the night and are also on the club’s website.

For further information about all that the club offers, please visit www.bridgewebs.com/watford or call the club on 05601 114470.
