A serious crash in Rickmansworth involving eight cars this morning (Thursday, September 19) has seen a motorcyclist suffer serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Three lanes of the M25 heading clockwise between Junctions 16 and 17 were initially closed, causing lengthy delays, but are now open and running slowly.
AA traffic alerts have reported that four cars, three vans and a motorbike were involved in the crash, which National Highways say is causing severe delays of up to an hour-and-a-half.
Thames Valley Police, who were called to the scene, confirmed that the motorcyclist has been taken to hospital.
Drivers are currently being advised to leave the M25 at Junction 16 and join the M40 eastbound towards Uxbridge and rejoin the motorway at Junction 17 via the A405.
