Croxley’s teenage boxing champ Ellie Harber has added a new matchup to her collection of victories, winning a fight in Thailand by technical knockout.
On Wednesday, August 13, Ellie, 17, was a part of the Iconic MAX Muay Thai Show, where she squared off with an older, more experienced Italian competitor called Elena in an ‘A-class’ fight, meaning punches, kicks, elbows and knees to head and body were allowed, and there was no protective padding.
Ellie, in the red corner, came out in round one quickly, asserting her dominance with a blaze of kicks, punches, elbows and knees to her opponent.
In round two, Ellie delivered a devastating elbow to her opponent that cut her forehead, and after 20 seconds of the third round, the doctor called a halt to the fight. Ellie emerged victorious in the fight and was given a performance bonus by the show’s promoter.
After the fight, Ellie said: “I would like to thank my opponent Elena, as together we provided the stadium crowd with a great fight. This was a hard test for me, as I am progressing from fighting juniors (my age) to adults.”
Ellie is still looking for local sponsors to help her on her journey, as Muay Thai is a self-funded sport. If you wish to support her, please contact her via either her Instagram or her Facebook.
